The time of the year

Chinese New Year...It is the time of the year when i am most joyous and excited.Albeit having to wake up at the "wee" hours of the morning,visiting your external family can be really a great thing to do.Obviously recieving a thick wad of red packets will make me grin from ear to ear,but that is besides the point.What Chinese New Year means to me is the sharing and the family togetherness.
I always have a whale of a time and this year was no exception.We had our usual rounds of majong and poker card games.Of course it is not "heathy" to cultivate such bad habits at a tender age but I guess it is just once every year.This year we had a steamboat for a change compared to the usual pot luck style we used to dine during reunion dinner.With abalone,mouthwatering chicken broth soup for the soup base of the steamboat,quail eggs,fishballs,scallops and a massive quantity of vegetables that is easiest to count in kilograms;that basically summarises the perfect meal we enjoyed greatly.
The second day of Chinese New Year was even better.We went to visit our Grandaunt's house which was an IT-savy "palace".With three television,two projector,three computers,five proffesional cameras,a Nintendo Wii,a X Box 360 and a Playstation3 all fitted nicely in the four room flat.It is simply impossible not for me to get my hands on one of the console.We tried the Nintendo Wii which was really user friendly and hilarious to play with.Although my hands were numb after using it,I strongly recommend people that are trying to lose weight to purchase the console.
Chinese New Year is really one of the highlights of the year;I really feel that it is not wise for people to skip Chinese New Year by going overseas.
Hence I end this post by wishing all a Happy Chinese New Year. the time is right;
